Advertise Your NJ Yard Sale for Only $5

  You have made the decision. Selected the items. Set prices, and picked a date. You are going to have a Yard Sale. Your goal may be to just get rid of some clutter, make some extra money, or both. The next step is usually to post some signs up around your neighborhood, and hope some people show up.
  The biggest problem with this is unless you live on or near a well-traveled road the only people who will know about your Yard Sale will be your neighbors. Most likely, your neighbors probably have much of the same stuff you do, and you won't really generate any money.
  Don't kid yourself there is real money to be made in Yard Sales. I personally know of a woman who makes at least $200 each month on her Yard Sales. That's an extra $2400 a year selling what she considers clutter or junk. However, she does live on a very busy street.
  There are what I call "professional yard sale buyers", and also people who make yard sales their hobby. These are the people you want to reach, and chances are they won't be seeing your signs you put up around the neighborhood. They do however check blogs like this one, NJ YARD SALE SEARCH.
  The blog is relatively new, but gaining more and more viewers every week. Every Yard Sale that is posted is then individually advertised on both Facebook and Twitter. This can bring you the type of buyers you are looking for, and for a limited time I am offering the chance to advertise your Yard Sale here for only $5.
  I will not only list the address of your sale, but also the types of items you are selling. This is really important as it draws true buyers searching for what you're selling.
  At only $5, this is a true bargain, afterall, you will probably spend more on the signs you post on the telephone poles in your neighborhood, and certainly much more to run an ad in the newspaper.

Since we really can't do much yard sale shopping, maybe we should all sharpen our skillls before the season starts. This book is available through Amazon and will pay for itself in just a few yard sales. Whether you shop for personal bargains or to make a little extra money a little more knowledge couldn't hurt. Besides when your done with the book you can just resell it!

Get Rich At The Thrift Store

The weather here in NJ is still cold and even snowy in some parts. Not the weather you need if your a bargain finder or treasure hunter via yard sales. Ming Vase Worth $1.6 Million Found At Estate Sale

A British man, who wished to remain anonymous, walked into Duke's, a Dorchester auction house, recently with a vase he purchased at an estate sale for several dollars. The vase, in a flimsy cardboard box turned out to be a near perfect Ming from 1403 to 1424 valued at $1.6 million.
 Finds like this is why most of us love to go to fleamarkets, thrift stores and yard sales. We all hope one day it will be us finding that treasure that allows us to retire.

Storage Wars Keeps The Hope Alive

Chances are if you are reading this you love, no I mean LOVE, the possibility of finding a treasure in someone else's junk. That is the real reason we go to yard sales anyway. Sure it's great to find a toy to give to your kid or grandchild. You might even enjoy finding something you know you can turn around and sell for a small profit at your own yard sale or even on Ebay. The thing that really drives you is the thought that you could be the one who finds that rare piece. A copy of the Declaration of Independence, or a piece of Faberge jewelry, maybe even a Tiffany.
  If I just described you then you must be watching the A&E show Storage Wars. The show follows four people who make their living going to auctions at storage facilities, buy the contents of units, and hope to find enough in the units to resell for a profit. I'm pretty sure the show focuses on most of the big scores, and that's ok with me. The show helps me get through these cold winter months when there just aren't any yard sales to go to. I can't help to think, when watching the show, that one day it will be me opening that beat up old box and finding a Rolex or peeling back a seemingly worthless oil painting to find a stash of cash.
  So while the weather here in NJ keeps us indoors, at least we can watch a show like Storage Wars and look forward to our first yard sale of the year.

Yard Sales the Original Ebay

Everyone seems to be familiar with Ebay these days. The online auction site for just about anything is thriving. While that is good for them it is bad for you, the bargain hunter. Where once you could just walk up to a yard sale and find some great deals, now alot of that stuff is posted on Ebay and you have to contend with a countless number of bidders. There are, however, good deals out there to be had. In fact, if you think about it, the yard sales that do still exist might actually have the best deals.
 There is a good chance that if someone is using a yard sale to sell off their goods they are either not Ebay savy or just too lazy to post each item. Either way this works out for you in several ways. First they may have something of value and not know it. Secondly, you only have to compete against the people in the general area of the yard sale.
 The weather in NJ just isn't lending itself to any yard sales right now, but don't fret, it will get warmer soon and we at NJ Yard Sale Search will start listing them soon.
